If you squint your eyes, you can see that things were quite a bit more stylish than the architecture you will find in present day Changhua. I don’t know the age of these structures,but I would guess seventy plus years (I could be wrong). You can see that the original owners of these gems had a little pizzaz in their heart when they built these. There are so many examples in Changhua of what used to be grand structures, but like so many others have either been neglected or abandoned while the present owner waits for a good price. Very sad indeed. If I had the means, I would buy up all of these wonderful old buildings, restore them and let the people see and enjoy what used to be. But then I’m a dreamer.
